It's Not To Late to Nominate to Florida's Stakes

TALLAHASSEE, FL—JULY 2, 2015— While nominations for Florida stakes races were due July 1, a 48-hour grace period means post-marked nominations are still being accepted.

These include the 400-yard, $500,000-est. Hialeah Derby for foals of 2013; the 440-yard, $250,000-est. Hialeah Maturity for foals of 2012; the $95,000-est. Stallion Stakes Derby for foals of 2013 who are the progeny of FQHRA Stallion Service Auction stallions; and $250,000-est. South Florida Derby for foals of 2013.

The meet at Hialeah Park opens December 26 and runs through February 29, with $5.6 million in purses and an average of $140,000 per day for the 40-day season. Purses for major stakes trials will be $15,000 per trial.
