Jacky Martin Memorial On Monday at Ruidoso Downs
Ruidoso Downs will conduct a memorial service for Jacky Martin on Monday at 11 a.m. in the All American Turf Club.

RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM—MAY 19, 2015— The Memorial Service for Jacky Martin will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. in the All American Turf Club. It is open to the public. The jockey won a record seven All American futurities at Ruidoso Downs and was the first jockey inducted into the Ruidoso Downs’ Racehorse Hall of Fame. He was 59 when he died on April 4.

Haveyougoneaway High Weight in First Lady ‘Cap

Champion Racing Stable Inc.’s Haveyougoneaway will carry high weight of 122 pounds when she faces five fillies and mares over six furlongs in the $50,000 First Lady Handicap on Memorial Day, the final day of opening weekend at Ruidoso Downs.

First post time is 1 p.m. with free parking and free general admission.

Haveyougoneaway comes to Ruidoso Downs from Oaklawn Park. She made three starts at the Arkansas track with an allowance victory and thirds in the $100,000 American Beauty Stakes and the $100,000 Spring Fever Stakes.

The Allen Milligan-trained sprinter will have regular rider Jareth Loveberry aboard with the fifth post position.

Tricar Stables Inc.’s Bright Town should provide a front-running challenge when she starts from the inside post position. The Speightstown daughter scored her latest win three starts ago when she won the $100,000 El Diario Handicap at six-and-one-half furlongs. She won by three lengths in gate-to-wire fashion.

Bright Town, trained by Sal Gonzalez, was second in the six-furlong Czaria Handicap at Sunland Park in her most recent start.

Ruby Gonzalez will be aboard with 121 pounds.

Always dangerous trainer Henry Dominguez sends out Tommy Town Thoroughbreds’ homebred Popalicious. The mare should be in peak form after impressing with a six-and-one-quarter-length win in an allowance race at The Downs at Albuquerque.

Alfredo Juarez Jr. will be up with the third post position.

Winchell Thoroughbreds LLC’s Teardrop makes her first start at Ruidoso Downs after finishing third in the $50,000 Wilma Mankiller Memorial Stakes on April 6 at Will Rogers Downs in Oklahoma. The Steve Asmussen-trained daughter of Tapit scored her latest win in a six-furlong allowance race at Oaklawn Park in February.

Veteran Casey Lambert rides Teardrop with the second post position.
