Big $33,351 Pick 6 Carryover Heads Friday’s Card At Los Alamitos

LOS ALAMITOS, CA— APRIL 17, 2015—A trio of races for 2-year-olds headed by the debut of Ima Fearless Hero, a half-brother to AQHA champion 2-year-old gelding Heza Dasha Fire, and a Pick 6 carryover of $33,351 will highlight the eight-race program on Friday at Los Alamitos. The Pick 6 will start in race #3 and with the new money expected to be wagered on Friday night, the total pool should be around $100,000.

Trained by Jose Flores for S-Quarter K Racing, Ima Fearless Hero will be in action in the seventh race on the card. The Washington-bred colt by Valiant Hero posted a :12.50 workout at 220 yards on March 14 before improving with a :12.30 drill in his second work, which was the fourth fastest of 30 works on March 31.

“Heza Dasha Fire was a gelding while Ima Fearless Hero is a colt so there are different challenges that come along with that,” Flores said. “Ima Fearless Hero is more playful, but he is talented. He doesn’t have to do everything Heza Dasha Fire did to be a successful horse.”

Ima Fearless Hero will take on Much Better Reason, a colt trained by Paul Jones for Tom Bradbury, Vince Genco and Vaughn Cook.

“This horse reminds me of his sire (AQHA champion aged horse) Good Reason SA,” said Paul Jones.

Flashy Big, who posted a bullet drill of :12.0 on April 7, and Hot Thot, who worked in :12.20 on March 28, are among the other promising runners in this event. The opening leg of the Pick 6 will feature 2-year-olds headed by Abigail Kawananakoa’s Free Swinger and EG High Desert Farms’ Unclaimed Divident. EG High Desert won a pair of races for 2-year-olds last weekend with trainer Yanet Rodriguez.
