Juvenile Rankings Join National Poll, Tee Chic at the Top

Q-RACING JOURNAL—APRIL 15, 2015—With 2-year-old racing now in full swing in most locations across the country, the weekly AQHA Racing-Horseplayernow.com national polls double down with its inclusion. Dual polls will be released each week the remainder of the 2015 season, and the honor atop the season's first juvenile poll goes to Tee Chic. The winner of the $410,000 Oklahoma Futurity (G2) received 108 of a possible 110 points in the balloting as a near-unanimous choice.

Other top-rated juveniles in the initial rankings include Nucky, winner of the $198,924 West Texas Futurity (G2), and Mayleen PYC, heroine of the $240,910 Harrah's Entertainment Futurity (G3).

As for the older horses, which have been ranked since early March, Matabari continues her reign atop the poll once again this week. The big mover of the week was Wagon Full Of Gold, who rebounded to win the $103,650 Bank of America Sunland Championship Challenge (G2) after a disappointing start to his year’s campaign. The 2003 All American Futurity (G1) finalist rose all the way to No. 5 this week after defeating a field that included champion and No. 6-ranked pollster Jesscuzican.

The AQHA Racing-Horseplayernow.com National Poll saw a change in its voting membership this week when TVG analyst Dave Weaver replaced his fellow TVG analyst Mike Joyce on the roster. Joyce has been reassigned more Thoroughbred duties within the network.
