Dash For Cash Futurity Trials Draw 128 Two-Year-Olds

GRAND PRAIRIE, TX—SEPTEMBER 13, 2021—Doc McCrocklin and Hock It To You are among the 128 2-year-olds entered in Fridays 400-yard Dash For Cash Futurity (G2) trials at Lone Star Park.

A gray son of the Mr Jess Perry stallion Dash Master Jess owned by Crown Horse Racing LLC, Doc McCrocklin is coming off of a neck victory in the 350-yard, $436,000 Texas QHA Sale Futurity (RG1) at Sam Houston Race Park on July 31. The gelding was a $12,500 purchase at last year’s TQHA Yearling Sale, and he has won four of five races and has earned $220,410.

Doc McCrocklin drew post 4 and will be ridden by J.R. Ramirez for trainer Roberto Madrigal in the 10th of 14 trials.

Hock It To You has banked $389,262 from six races in Texas and Oklahoma, and he is coming off of a second-place finish to Doc McCrocklin in the TQHA Sale Futurity. The Kiss My Hocks colt was a $35,000 buy at last year’s TQHA Yearling Sale, and his record includes a second-place finish, one length behind winner BH Inxs, in the 330-yard, $732,000 Sam Houston Futurity (G2) on May 28.

Hock It To You drew post 5 and will be ridden by Victor Urieta Jr. for owners Reynold Munoz and Heavy Hitters Racing Stables, and trainer Juan Diaz Jr. in the 10th heat.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the $400,000-est. Dash For Cash Futurity final on October 2.
