Turf Paradise will host six trials on Tuesday for the 300-yard AQRA Turf Paradise Open Spring Futurity.

PHOENIX, AZ—APRIL 1, 2021—A total of 56 2-year-olds are entered in Tuesday’s 300-yard AQRA Turf Paradise Open Spring Futurity trials at Turf Paradise.

Thru My Eyes, a Fly Thru The Fire colt owned by Jose Aguilar Mendoza, drew post 9 and will be ridden by McKenzie King for trainer Eloy Navarro in the fourth of six trials. A $9,000 yearling purchase at last year’s Los Alamitos Equine Sale, Thru My Eyes made his debut with a clear 2 3/4-length victory in a 250-yard maiden-special-weight dash at Turf Paradise on March 18.

Fly Thru The Fire is currently the #1 Leading First-Crop Sire of winners in 2021. The son of Walk Thru Fire has four winners from 11 starters.

Tresponte, a gray son of the #3 leading first-crop sire of money earners in 2021 Duponte trained by Navarro for Mendoza, will make his career debut from post 10 and will be ridden by Hector Aldrete in the fifth heat. A $75,000 purchase at last year’s Heritage Place Yearling Sale in Oklahoma City, the colt is out of Senorita Tres, a Grade 3-winning daughter of Tres Seis, and he is a half brother to stakes winners Politicaly Correct and Brookestone Gray.

Trainer Eric Valenzuela will send out first-time starter Fdd Fling for owners Ronald L. Sugamosto, Diamond Racing Stables, and Wi Taiaroa. A $47,000 purchase at last year’s Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale, the FDD Dynasty colt is out of Higher Fling, a winning daughter of champions Mr Jess Perry and Higher Fire and a half sister to 2017 All American Futurity (G1) winner Fly Baby Fly.

Fdd Fling drew post 2 and will be ridden by Adrian Ramos in the second trial.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the $17,500-added AQRA Turf Paradise Open Spring Futurity final on April 28.
