Retama Park To Host Second Day Of 2-Year-Old Training Races on Tuesday
Retama Park will kick off a seven-race training card at noon (CST) Tuesday. Six races will feature two-year-old Quarter Horses making their first appearance.

Retama Park To Host Second Day Of 2-Year-Old Training Races on Tuesday

SELMA, TX—FEBRUARY 26, 2021—Retama Park will host another seven training races on Tuesday (Mar 2), six are carded for 2-year-olds. Sever winter weather in Texas caused the cancelation of the February 16th and 23rd training races at the San Antonio area racetrack.

First post on Tuesday is set for noon (CST) and all races conducted at a distance of 250 yards.

A number of "summer sale yearlings" will make their career debut, headed by $45,000 Heritage Place Yearling graduate Pjs All Day in Race 6.

Trainer Santiago Riojas, Jr. will send out the son of Volcom from the AQHA Racing Champion Filly PJs Chick In Black for owner Ruse Ranch LLC.

Jockey Nestor Duran has been named to ride Pjs All Day, a half-brother to Grade 1 winner Hes Limitless, from post 4.

The first 2-year-old race (2) will feature four summer sale graduates headed by $31,500 Heritage Place graduate FDD Prize. The daughter of world champion sire FDD Dynasty from the stakes-producing Pyc Paint Your Wagon mare Ms Fast Prize Zoom races for owner Rachuan Suarez Mvz. Trainer Alonso Neri has named Victor Urieta, Jr. to ride the half-sister to stakes-placed Kiss Fast Zoom from post 4. The second dam is Grade 1 winner and world-record holder Fast Prize Zoom.

Ferarri V Twelve, a Valiant Hero filly from the same female line, will start from post 2 under jockey Luis Vivanco in the opening 2-year-old race. Shacep Farms paid $23,000 for the half-sister to five black type including Grade 3 winner Ferrari James and RG2 runner-up V Power. Santiago Riojas, Jr. trains the bay filly from the Mr Jess Perry mare Ferrarri Fast Prize.

Also starting in Race 2 are LQHBA Yearling graduate Awe Y Not Go a $17,000 Game Patriot filly, and Kool Kash Kid, a $5,000 TQHA Sale graduate by Pyc Prize Time.

Santiago Riojas, Jr. will send out another Shacep Farms Heritage Place graduate, Famous Sunsets, in Race 3. Jockey Nestor Duran will ride the One Famous Eagle half-sister to champion and multiple stakes sire Heza Our Secret. Out of the G3-placed Separatist mare Secret Separation, Famous Sunsets is also a sister to stakes winner Secretly Famous.

Santiago Riojas, Jr. has named Luis Vivanco to ride $30,000 Ruidoso Select graduate Lethal Code in Race 4 for owner Ruse Ranch LLC. The son of word champion sire FDD Dynasty is out of the Mr Jess Perry mare Lethal Perry. This is the family of All American Futurity(G1) winner JM Miracle. Lethal Code races from the inside post position.

Also making his debut in Race 4 is TQHA Sale graduate Joltt. Jesus Salazar paid $26,000 for the son of Freighttrain B from the Mr Jess Perry mare Vyvacious. Trainer Jose Luis Sanchez III named Eddie Sanchez to ride the brown colt from the family of champion First To Flash and Grade 1-placed The Printing Press.
