LOS ALAMITOS, CA—FEBRUARY 26, 2021—M & G Farms, Inc.’s Constituent, the top 2-year-old colt at Los Alamitos last season, is one of the headliners when trials to the El Primero Del Año Derby at 400 yards take place here next Sunday night.

Trained by Valentin Zamudio, Constituent had a tremendous first year of racing, winning the Governor’s Cup Futurity in one of the best races of the season before qualifying to the Golden State Million Futurity.

He won a total of six races and his accomplishments earned him the title of PCQHRA champion 2-year-old colt. Zamudio will have three other in the El Primero trials in Dont Ride The Slide, This Parties Hoppin and Flex Jet. Other possible starters including multiple futurity finalist BF Outfoosed, Governor’s Cup Futurity finalists Favorite Colossus, Single Brad and Untuckit.

Trials to the rich Los Alamitos Oaks on Saturday night will feature Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity winner Apollitical Patty and Oklahoma Futurity winner Aint She Tempting. Both fillies are now owned by Julianna Hawn Holt.

Other possible starters include Ed Burke Million runner-up Terrific Temper, impressive debutante Comaneci, recent Maiden trial winner In My Heart and Winter Derby finalist Leah Carroll. The Oaks trials will be held at 400 yards.
