GRAND PRAIRIE, TX—NOVEMBER 12, 2020—Come witness these colorful breeds compete in the Grade 1, $67,170 Lone Star Paint and Appaloosa Futurity and the $37,650 Lone Star Paint and Appaloosa Claiming Derby here Sunday night. Gates open at 5 p.m. (CST)

First race post time is 6:05 p.m. 12 races are carded, so there will be plenty of hi-speed competition to see.

There are only five days remaining in our Fall Meeting of Champions, so make plans to get out here. You won't want to miss it! We have gone back to 12 races per night for the remainder of the season. Please plan to arrive as early as you can to assure admission, and remember you must wear a mask.

Up first is the Lone Star Paint and Appaloosa Claiming Derby. If you'll remember, there were trials held on October 31, of which the ten fastest horses earned their place in this, the claiming derby final.

Interestingly, all of the competitors in the trials were up for claiming price tag of $10,000, so if you claimed one that made the top ten fastest you not only got the spot in Sundays derby, you got the horse as well. One horse, Jess Cruzin was claimed from the trials. He will run in the final for his new connections, trainer Oscar Nunez and owner Samuel Gaytan.

Here is the field in post-position order with jockey and morning line odds for the Lone Star Paint and Appaloosa Claiming Derby, scheduled as race 10:

Grade 1, $67,170 Lone Star Paint and Appaloosa Futurity

The field for this grade 1 event also had to qualify from trials on October 31. Fastest qualifier was Wag Ranche's Wb Stevie Nix. She's a daughter of Crm Livewire out of the Shazoom mare, Zooming Moon and is the morning line favorite going in. She has won four of nine starts in her young career.

The field for the Grade 1, $67,170 Lone Star Paint and Appaloosa Futurity is as follows: It's the scheduled 11th race on the 12-race card. Approximate post time is 10:45 p.m.
