AJAX, ONT—SEPTEMBER 25, 2020—Two Ontario bred 3-year-olds headline the final of the $50,000 Picov Derby on Monday, September 27 at Ajax Downs.

This is the top race for sophomores of the Quarter Horse season and time trial winners Eazy Street And One Kool Dynasty line beside each other in the gate and take on eight other finalists in the 400-yard dash.

The filly One Kool Dynasty is the overall leader of the 3-year-old division as winner of the $54,600 Princess Derby in August followed by a close second in the Ontario Bred Derby final on Sept. 2. Owned by Belinda Taggart of Oakwood, ON, One Kool Dynasty comes into the Picov Derby with four wins in eight starts in 2020 with three second-place finishes. She is trained by Jason Pascoe of Pontypool and will be ridden by her regular rider 'Hurricane' Helen Vanek.

Eazy Street, last year's Champion 2-year-old male, won his Trial by a length, grabbing his second win of the season for owners Carol and Jaime Robertson and trainer Bryn Robertson of Hillerin Farm in Hillsburgh. Tony Phillips is his regular rider.

Both One Kool Dynasty and Eazy Street posted a speed index of 85 in their Trial victories and their competition includes Don Reid's Mariainita CSJ, second to Eazy Street and The Kingsmann, owned by the First Line Racing Syndicate, who was a close second to One Kool Dynasty. The Picov Derby goes as race 9 on the 10-race card.

The $40,000 final of the Ontario Bred Maturity for 4-year-olds and upward pits trial winners Tres On Fire, who posted a mild upset at 5 to 1 over Fiesty Icon and Countrys Comin Bac, against the filly Five Bar Fandango.

Both Trial winners were ridden by Ismael Mosquiera who has elected to ride Five Bar Fandango in the final for Carol and Jaime Robertson. The Ontario Bred Maturity at 400-yards is race 10.

First race post time Monday, Sept. 27 at Ajax Downs is 12:55 p.m.
