Coming off a third-place effort in the Bank of America Emerald Downs Championship Challenge against older horses on August 20th, One Flyin Foose will step back into his age group when he faces seven rivals in the second trial (Race 3) on Monday.
Trainer Freddy Ibarra conditions the multiple stakes winning Oregon homebred for owner-breeder Mathew Huse. The son of champion Foose has compiled a (12) 7-0-1 record and earned $46,718. Out of the One Famous Eagle mare One Famous Strawfly, One Flyin Foose has been set at 2-1 as the morning-line favorite in the second trial.
In the opening trial (Race 2), Boardshorts Stables LLC and Emilio Guerrero's Approval Given has been installed as the 3-1 morning line favorite. Also trained by Emilio, Approval given is a stakes-placed California-bred son of champion sire Kiddy Up from the Check Him Out mare Just Checking.
Approval Given will be making his first start since a third-place effort in the Adequan Grants Pass Derby Challenge on July 7th. He has won or placed in five of nine starts and earned $10,904. Edward C. Allred is the breeder.
The 10 fastest qualifiers will return to Grants Pass Downs on Monday, October 12th to vie for the winner's share of the $12,500-added 400 yard final.
