Bevy Of Stakes Runners Set To Compete In Grade 3 Speedhorse Futurity Trails on Friday

TULSA, OK—JULY 8, 2020—A bevy of stakes contenders are among the 54 2-year-odls set to compete in nine trials at Fair Meadows Racetrack on Friday for the 2020 Grade 3 Speedhorse Futurity.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will return Saturday, July 25th to vie for the winner's share of the $139,900 final going 350 yards.

Among top contenders this year is Elizabeth Logan's Grade 1 finalist Bpmysoutherndynasty. Dee Kenner conditions the gelded son of world champion sire FDD Dynasty from the Southern Cartel mare Bp Southern Mariah. Bred in Oklahoma by Bill Price, Bpmysoutherndynasty has compiled a (3) 1-0-0 record this season and banked $51,249.

The bay gelding finished sixth in the $826.250 Heritage Place Futurity(G1) in his last start May 30th. Jockey Raul Valenzuela will ride from Post 4 in the sixth trial (Race 9). Logan paid $22,000 at the Heritage Place September Yearling Sale for the colt.

Laico Bird Stakes runner-up Ferarri B will start in the third trial (Race 6) for owner Guadalupe Calderon. Rex Brooks conditions the $20,500 Heritage Place September Yearling Sale graduate who has compiled a (6) 1-2-0 record and banked $39,656 this year.

Also a finalist in the Grade 2 Oklahoma Futurity and the Easy Jet Stakes at Remington Park., Ferrari B will be ridden by jockey Andrew Samaniego from post 3. Weetona Stanley bred the Freighttrain B colt from Ferarri Fast Prize by Mr Jess Perry.

My Louisiana Girl, a daughter of champion sire The Louisiana Cartel, does not have any stakes experience but will go the post in the fourth trial (Race 7) off an impressive 1-¼ length maiden win June 26th over the Fair Meadows racing surface.

Also trained by Keener, the $9,500 Heritage Place September Sale graduate races for owner J. Lloyd Yother. William E Smith bred the brown filly from the Grade 1 winning and graded stakes producing Shazoom mare Fast Prize Zoom. Raul Valenzuela has been tapped to ride My Louisiana Girl from post 5.

The seventh trial (Race 10) looks to be one of the toughest with four of six starters already winners.

Oklahoma Futurity (G2) runner-up Relentlessly will head the field for owner Aguila Negra Racing Inc. Jose Huerta trains the son of leading second-crop sire Hes Relentless from the Carters Cartel mare Runaway Renata.

The brown colt has compiled a (3) 1-2-0 record and banked $73,963. Randy and Sandy Coleman bred the $9,700 Heritage Place September Sale graduate in Texas. Champion jockey James Flores has been named to ride Relentlessly from post 2.

Candy Rush, a daughter of Jess Louisiana Blue, starts from post 5 off an impressive two-length maiden win at Fair Meadows June 26th. Luz Chavira will saddle the gray filly from the Wave Carver mare Lonis Candy for owner Mary and Michael Lozier. Rolando Raudales will be aboard the Rick Sumner Oklahoma-bred.

Another recent winner racing in the seventh trial is Elizardo Garcia's Power Prize. In his only career start the Valiant Hero gelding posted an easy one-length effort at Fair Meadows on June 5th for trainer Rex Brooks. Andre Samaniego will ride the Weetona Stanley bred from post 3. Power Prize is out of the multiple stakes producing Mr Jess Perry mare Ferrari Fast Prize.

Oklahoma Juvenile-placed Reigning Kisses will start in the eighth trial (Race 11) for owner Monica Estrada. Maria Barraza-Rodriguez will saddle the daughter of a leading second-crop sire Kiss My Hocks from post 5. She has won two of three starts and earned $19,644.

Daniel Torres has been named to ride the $12,500 Heritage Place September Yearling Sale graduate. Conda Maze and Bob McClure bred Reigning Kisses from the One Famous Eagle mare Lil Famous Dash.

Also staring in the eighth trial is Remington Park Juvenile finalist High Value Of Return, a son of multiple stake sire High Rate Of Return. Fidencio Jimenez trans the Oklahoma homebred for owner-breeder Mark McPhail. The colt has won two of four starts this season and banked $25,044. Armando Ramirez II will ride from post 6.

First post on Friday is set for 6 p.m. (CDT). The first Speedhorse Futurity trial (Race 4) will go off around 7:15 p.m.
