OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MAY 29, 2020— Queen for Cash puts her undefeated mark on the line Saturday night in one of nine stakes races for closing night at Remington Park in the Grade 1, $136,700 Speedhorse Graham Futurity. The race, at 350 yards, is the richest racing event for Paints and Appaloosas.

The 2-year-old daughter of leading-second crop sire Hes Relentless (QH), out of the Ivory James (QH) mare Ivory Queen, has won three in a row for owner Gary Vaughan of Coalgate, Okla., and was made the morning line favorite at 5-2 odds by Jerry Shottenkirk.

The question that will be answered Saturday night will be whether you trust her record or this Appaloosa’s times. She was made the favorite from her 3-for-3 record, including a win in the $12,000 Victoria Ennis Stakes. Still, she was only the fifth-fastest qualifier in the trials for this final. This filly will also be the only Appaloosa taking on nine Paints in this race.

Trained by Carlos Ruiz, Queen for Cash will be ridden by her regular rider Daniel Torres in this spot. She has earned $19,876 in her three victories.

Trainer Matt Whitekiller qualified three Paints for the finals, including the two fastest qualifiers – Tales U Lose and This Wire Is Hot. His other charge is Real Easy Sign. Tales U Lose had the fastest qualifying time on trial night, covering 350 yards in 17.612 seconds. This Wire Is Hot stopped the timer in 17.692. Queen for Cash’s qualifying time was 17.770.

Jockey Cody Smith was aboard for both of the trial wins of Tales U Lose and This Wire is Hot. He will be back aboard Tales U Lose in the finals. Andrew Samaniego picks up the mount on This Wire Is Hot.

Tales U Lose, a 2-year-old colt owned by Dan and Kaye Jones of Kemp, Texas, has not won a stakes race yet, taking two trials, but could do no better than fifth in the $180,100 Oklahoma Futurity. He was sired by Wagon Tales (QH), out of the Texas Hero mare Elaina Go Go. Tales U Lose has won two of three career starts for $17,520 in earnings.

This Wire Is Hot’s best race was good enough to win this stakes. The 2-year-old gelded son of CRM Livewire, out of the Ausual Suspect (QH) mare Princess Friona, ran second in the $103,200 American Paint Classic Futurity, beaten only a half-length by one of the top Paints on the grounds this year – WF Turnpike Candy. That horse didn’t qualify for the Speedhorse Graham finals because of a hard bump coming out of the gate in trials.

This Wire Is Hot is also owned by Dan and Kaye Jones. This gelding has raced four times with one win, one second and two thirds for $27,572.

Interestingly enough, the top money earner in the field is a maiden – Baileys N Corona. Despite not having won a race in three tries, this 2-year-old filly by Corona Cartel (QH), out of the Real Easy Cash mare Baileys N Sunsets, has bankrolled $32,891. Owned by Dunn Ranch of Wynnewood, Okla., this filly ran second in a trial for the Oklahoma Paint/Appaloosa Futurity on March 6, and then was the runner-up in the finals, losing to Captain Capi, who is not in this final after encountering trouble in the trial. Baileys N Corona is trained by Monty Arrossa and Mario Delgado rides.

The Speedhorse Graham Futurity is the sixth of 12 on Saturday night with an approximate post time of 7:20pm. Here is the field, by post-position and program order, with trainer, jockey and morning-line odds.
