BOSSIER CITY, LA—FEBRUARY 24, 2020—Eighty-one 2-year-olds, all of whom will be making their first career starts, are entered in Sunday’s 300-yard Harrah’s Entertainment Futurity (G3) trials at Louisiana Downs.

Juan Galicia’s Shes Racey, a recent training-race winner over the track, drew post 6 and will be ridden by David Alvarez for trainer Katie Carlos in the fifth of nine trials.

The sorrel daughter of champion and world champion sire Stoli was a $15,000 purchase at last year’s TQHA Yearling Sale. Shes Racey is out of Racey Winner, a winning 10-year-old daughter of Shazoom and a finalist in the 2013 TQHA Sires’ Cup Derby RG3 at Retama Park.

Shes Racey traces back to her third dam, champion Denim N Diamonds. The filly prepped for her debut with a victory in a February 7, 220-yard training race in :12.24 at Louisiana Downs.

Roma, a homebred daughter of Ivan James owned by Omar Arriaga, won a 250-yard schooling race at Retama Park on February 7, as the bay filly covered her trip in :13.38. Roma drew post 5 and will be ridden by Eddie Sanchez for trainer Jose Luis Sanchez III in the second heat.

Trainer Sanchez will send out local training race winner Heavy Pedal in the eighth trial. A Louisiana-bred daughter of Heza Fast Dash, Heavy Pedal was purchased for $22,000 by owner Javier de los Santos Muzquiz at last year’s Heritage Place Yearling Sale. The filly won a February 7, 220-yard training race in :12.40.

Eddie Sanchez will ride Heavy Pedal from post 5.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the $75,000-added Harrah’s Entertainment Futurity final on March 18.
