Travel Hints for Indiana Quarter Horse Speed Sale Location

INDIANAPOLIS, IN—SEPTEMBER 13, 2019—Due to construction on some of the main thoroughfares around Indianapolis, if you’re driving to the Quarter Horse Racing Association of Indiana’s Speed Sale at the Marion County Fairgrounds, you may find yourself stuck in multiple detours.

To alleviate any travel stress, QHRAI reminds all possible attendees to give yourself time to arrive early so you can preview the sales consignments without the stress of being lost in traffic.

The sales facility address is 7300 E Troy Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46239, but be aware the Southeastern Avenue is closed due to construction from I-465 South and I-74 West. The sale starts at noon EDT.

Coming to the Marion County Fairgrounds from the Northside of Indianapolis? Take I-65 south to I-465 East, Exit 52 to Beech Grove and keep left at the fork to continue toward Emerson Avenue. Use any lane to turn slightly left onto Emerson Avenue. Turn right onto Churchman Avenue and continue onto Churchman Bypass. Continue onto East Hanna Avenue, then turn left onto Five Points Road. After one mile, turn left onto Southeastern Avenue, then right onto E Troy Avenue.

Coming to the Marion County Fairgrounds from Indiana Grand Racing and Casino? Take I-74 West towards Indianapolis, then take Exit 96 for Post Road. Turn right onto South Post Road, then turn left onto East Troy Avenue. Turn left to stay on E Troy Avenue.

The sale features 36 yearlings, three 2 year olds, two yearlings and two older broodmares, both pregnant and eligible to have Indiana-bred foals (with a breed-back to a registered Indiana stallion in 2020). Twenty Indiana-sired and bred horses are listed, along with 18 registered Indiana-bred yearlings.

The sale will be live streamed via the QHRAI Facebook page, but all bids must be done in person at the sale. For more information on the QHRAI Speed Sale, contact Vick Conway at 765-748-6806, or to view the catalogue online.
