LOS ALAMITOS, CA—JULY 11 2019—CD Horses' Ali Babe Foose, the 2018 PCQHRA champion 2-year-old colt, and Howard Nichols' Dexxter, a multiple Grade 1 stakes finalists, will headline a group of talented 3-year-olds in the $15,000 Big Lew Handicap at 350 yards on Friday at Los Alamitos.
Ali Babe Foose, a three time major futurity finalist last year, ran second to champion Flash N Roll in the Grade 1 Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity. The son of champion Foose qualified to the El Primero Del Ano Derby in his 2019 debut and then finished fifth to the talented Powerful Favorite in the final.
Dexxter won his trial to the El Primero and then finished fourth in the final. He also ran second to rising star Chocolatito in the Dillingham Handicap on May 18 and the combination of those efforts make him the top pick in the Big Lew. Jaime Gomez will saddle Alib Babe Foose and Dexxter.
The Big Lew field will also feature recent allowance winners Tequila Sangria and SC Coronada plus Arizona Favorite and High Flier.
