Oklahoma Futurity(G2) winner Ec Revenge will headline 22 Heritage Place Futurity (G1) trials at Remington Park on Friday and Saturday.

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MAY 10, 2019—A total of 175 2-year-olds, topped by graded stakes winner EC Revenge, have been entered in 22 Heritage Place Futurity (G1) trials at Remington Park on Friday and Saturday.

Eleven trials will be contested each night. The five fastest qualifiers from each night of trials will meet in the June 1, $1-million Heritage Place Futurity final.

Friday’s trials are headlined by stakes winners EC Revenge and Relentless Gun. A brown son of Hes Relentless trained by Dee Keener for owner Elizabeth Logan, EC Revenge will be stretching out in distance off of his one-length victory in the 300-yard, $396,650 Oklahoma Futurity (G2) on March 23.

EC Revenge drew the rail post and will be ridden by James Flores in Friday’s eighth trial.

Relentless Gun drew post 6 and will be ridden by Rolando Raudales in Friday’s fourth heat. Trained by Pedro Hernandez-Pulido for owner Running C Ranch LLC, the Hes Relentless gelding broke his maiden with a one-length win at odds of 16-1 in the 330-yard, $100,000 Remington Park Juvenile Stakes (R) for Oklahoma-breds on April 20.

Dustin R. Cox’s Jay Number 7 returns to the races in Saturday’s first trial. Trained by Samuel Valdivia, the gelded son of the Pyc Paint Your Wagon stallion Im A Fancy Pyc is coming off of a third-place finish, one length behind winner Relentless Gun, in the Remington Park Juvenile Stakes.

The Heritage Place Futurity is Oklahoma’s richest horse race for any breed. It was first run in 1981 at Blue Ribbon Downs, when Dan and Jolene Urschel’s Jumbo Pacific earned the winner’s share of a $366,035 purse, and it first achieved graded status (RG3) in ’85. The Heritage Place Futurity moved to Remington Park in 1990 and first achieved open Grade 1 status three years later.
