VINTON, LA—MAY 7, 2019—Two stakes, topped by the 350-yard, $74,115 Old South Derby for 3-year-olds, will be featured on Delta Downs' 10-race program on Friday.
Jorge Haddad’s Anasttasia, a homebred daughter of The Louisiana Cartel trained by Kenneth Roberts Sr., boasts a three-race win streak that includes a 1 1/2-length victory in the first of five Old South Derby trials on April 19. The filly is coming off of a 2-year-old campaign during which she won the 350-yard, $151,000 Iowa Double Gold Futurity (R) at Prairie Meadows.

Also on Friday, a full field of 10 Louisiana-bred runners has been entered in the 350-yard, $50,000 Open Me A Corona Stakes (RG2).
Gunna Be Alright, a two-time stakes winner during the Louisiana Downs winter meet, drew post 9 and will be ridden by David Alvarez for owner Gladney 1 LLC and trainer Kenneth Roberts Sr. A 4-year-old son of Heza Fast Dash, the gelding will be stretching out in distance off of his wire-to-wire, one-length victory in the February 16, 330-yard Mr Jess Perry Stakes (RG3).
