OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MAY 2, 2019—Six aged runners have been entered in Saturday’s 400-yard, $100,000 Leo Stakes (G1) at Remington Park.

Valeriano Racing Stables’ LD Is Back, a 5-year-old Walk Thru Fire gelding trained by Josue Ponce, will be making his first career start at Remington Park. LD Is Back ships in from California, where he is coming off of an eighth-place finish, 2 1/4 lengths behind winner Zoomin For Spuds, in the February 10, $157,000 Brad McKinzie Winter Championship (G1) at Los Alamitos.

LD Is Back ended his 4-year-old campaign with a fifth-place finish, a neck behind winner and eventual world champion Bodacious Eagle, in the 440-yard, $600,000 Champion of Champions (G1). The gelding drew post 5 and will be ridden by Jesse Levario.

The Leo Stakes honors the memory of Leo, one of the most influential racing sires in the early years of the American Quarter Horse Association. Leo was inducted into the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame in 1989.
