Tac Me Up Hopes To Continue Great Year For Barbour In Autumn 'Cap

LOS ALAMITOS, CA—OCTOBER 11, 2018—It's been a special year in racing for Dr. Ruth Barbour, an equine veterinarian practitioner and all-around horsewoman from Ontario, Canada. Dr. Barbour campaigns the outstanding stakes winner Country Boy 123, who entered this weekend's racing action with a North American-best eight victories in 2018.

Country Boy 123 has won everything there is to win at Ajax Downs, most recently setting a track record at 300 yards, but he's not the only one winning races for her owner in 2018.

Dr. Barbour has also done well in California thanks to multiple futurity finalist Tac Me Up, a 2-year-old Kiddy Up gelding she races in partnership with Colten O'Dell and Wendy O'Dell. Tac Me Up will go after his fourth win of the year when he leads a field of six in the $25,000 Autumn Handicap for 2-year-olds Saturday at Los Alamitos.

Dr. Barbour became involved in Quarter Horse racing in 2011 through neighbors Bryn and Carol Robertson, who have been successful in the sport. As part of her training routine with Country Boy 123, Dr. Barbour rides him through trails and fields on her farm in between starts. The horse has responded well, winning 18 of 26 outing while earning $257,522.

Trained by Chris O'Dell, Tac Me Up will look to give his connections his fourth victory when he starts from post five on Saturday. His resume includes appearances in the Grade 2 Robert Adair Kindergarten Futurity and Governor's Cup Futurity.

He'll be facing a solid field featuring Stevieb Flashofcash, Bos Time Machine, Bolt For Gold, Stel A Gambler and Heza Blues Man.
