    HOBBS, NM—OCTOBER 6, 2018—Badhabit Jess, a son of champion Mr Jess Perry owned by La Feliz Montana Ranch, heads a field of 10 juveniles entered in Sunday’s 400-yard, $80,000-added Hobbs America Futurity (G2) at Zia Park.

    Trained by Blane Wood, Badhabit Jess is coming off of a Ruidoso Downs summer campaign during which the sorrel gelding won one of four starts and qualified to the 440-yard, $3-million All American Futurity (G1) on September 3. Badhabit Jess drew post 4 and will be ridden by Ricky Ramirez.

    Other contenders include Sure Fire Quick, a gelded son of Walk Thru Fire trained by Jesus Carrete for owners Ricardo A. Bernal and Reymundo F. Resendez. The fastest qualifier, Sure Fire Quick has won two of six races and has earned $44,440, and he was a finalist in the 440-yard, $1-million Rainbow Futurity (G1) at Ruidoso Downs in July.

    Juan Pulido will ride Sure Fire Quick from post 10.

    Jess Move You, the 6-5 favorite, drew post 3 and will be ridden by Raul Ramirez Jr. Trained by Jesus Carrete for owners Ricardo A. Bernal and Reymundo F. Resendez, the sorrel son of world champion Apollitical Jess won the 400-yard, $759,000 Ruidoso Derby (G1) at Ruidoso Downs in June, and he was also a finalist in the 440-yard, $802,000 Rainbow Derby (G1) in July, and the 440-yard, $1.239-million All American Derby (G1) in September.
