HOBBS, NM—SEPTEMBER 27, 2018—Paragon Farms’ Tough To Bee, a 4-year-old son of world champion Apollitical Jess, is the 5-2 morning-line favorite in Saturday’s 350-yard, $50,000 James Isaac Hobbs Stakes (G3) at Zia Park.
Tough To Bee is coming off of a Ruidoso Downs summer campaign during which the sorrel gelding ran second, a half of a length behind winner Myst Fit, in the 350-yard, $50,000 Higheasterjet Handicap (G3) on June 30. Tough To Bee drew post 3 and will be ridden by Ricky Ramirez for trainer Blane Wood.
Myst Fit, a 4-year-old son of champion Separatist trained by Wood for owners Newman Cattle Co. and Bobby Simmons, drew post 5 and will be ridden by Raul Ramirez Jr. Myst Fit won the Higheasterjet at odds of 12-1, and the gray gelding has banked $38,650 from four outs this season.
