EVANSTON, WY—AUGUST 2, 2018—Femme Fatalia, a stakes-placed daughter of Favorite Cartel owned by Melody A. Olsen, is one of 36 2-year-olds entered in Saturday’s 350-yard Wyoming Downs Futurity trials.
A $13,000 yearling purchase at last year’s Los Alamitos Equine Sale, Femme Fatale is coming off of a second-place finish in the 350-yard, $96,000 Beehive Futurity at Laurel Brown Racetrack near Salt Lake City. The filly drew post 2 and will be ridden by Cordarelton Benn for trainer Glade Van Tassell in the first of four trials.
Mighty B Royal, a gelded son of Mighty B Valiant owned by Elsha McGarry and trainer Ross Brown, drew post 6 and will be ridden by Uriel Dominguez in the second heat. Mighty B Royal has won two of three starts and has banked $14,998, and he ran third, a half of a length behind winner Separatefromothers, in the 350-yard, $110,000 Cowboy State Futurity at Energy Downs.
The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the August 19, $25,000-est. Wyoming Downs Futurity final.
