TULSA, OK—JULY 21, 2018—Blazen Panther will put his winning streak on the line in Friday’s 870-yard, $17,500 Walter Merrick Memorial Stakes (R) for Oklahoma-breds at Fair Meadows at Tulsa.
A 7-year-old son of champion Panther Mountain owned and trained by Jonathan Chavira, Blazen Panther has won his last three starts, all at the 870-yard distance, including the June 2, $50,000 Remington Park Distance Championship (G2). The gelding drew post 3 and will be ridden by Daniel Torres.

A homebred Rushago filly trained by Guillermo Valdivia, Ima China Rush has earned $23,199 from four outs this season, and her race record includes a head victory at odds of 18-1 in the 350-yard, $55,000 Jack Brooks Stakes (R) for Oklahoma-bred 3-year-olds at Remington Park on May 28.
Ima China Rush drew post 8 and will be ridden by Cody Smith.
