FARMINGTON, NM—MAY 30, 2018—Woodys Copy Cat, a graded stakes placed filly owned by Enrique Barrera, is one of 35 2-year-olds entered in Friday’s 350-yard Four Corners Futurity trials at SunRay Park.
A brown daughter of Woodbridge trained by Cynthia Gonzalez, Woodys Copy Cat is coming off of a second-place finish, a neck behind winner Zee James, in the 300-yard, $396,000 New Mexican Spring Futurity (RG2) at Sunland Park on April 7. The filly drew post 4 and will be ridden by Alonso Rivera in the second of four trials.
Vincente Contreras’ JMF Dasher, a sorrel gelding by champion Tempting Dash trained by Jose R. Gonzalez Sr., drew post 2 and will be ridden by Alejandro Medellin in the first trial. JMF Dasher will be stretching out in distance off of his sixth-place finish, two lengths behind winner Suze Returns, in the April 14, 300-yard West Texas Futurity (G2) at Sunland Park.
The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the June 17, $80,000-est. Four Corner Futurity final.
