OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MAY 3, 2016—A field of nine Oklahoma-breds, including Michael Teel’s AJs High, has been entered in the 400-yard, $100,000 Sooner State Stakes (RG1) at Remington Park on Saturday.

A two-time stakes winner during the current Remington spring meet, AJs High is a homebred 4-year-old son of Apollitical Jess trained by Charley Hunt. The gelding is coming off of a half-length victory against state-breds in the April 7, 350-yard Mr Jet Moore Stakes (R).

AJs High brings a record of 10 wins in 15 outs and earnings of $403,369 into the Sooner State. The gelding drew post 7 and will be ridden by Stormy Smith.

Other contenders include Duane Murphy’s Sudden Separation, a Grade 1-winning 5-year-old Inseperable mare trained by Larry Sharp. Sudden Separation is winless in two starts this season, but the mare ended her 4-year-old campaign with a four-race win streak that included a half-length victory as the odds-on favorite in the 400-yard, $126,000 Merial Distaff Challenge Championship (G1) at Lone Star Park on November 7.

Sudden Separation drew post 8 and will be ridden by James Flores.

  2. Rocketair (Ivan Carnero)
  3. Bringin The Gray (Agustin Silva)
  4. BP Cartels Policy (no rider named)
