OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—APRIL 30, 2016—The Grade 1, $104,200 American Paint Classic Futurity for 2-year-old Paints could be controlled by trainer Dee Keener. He has his six entrants in the field of 10 starters, attempting to produce sweeping results in the race on Saturday night at Remington Park.

During the four qualifying trials on April 15 for the 350-yard American Paint Classic, Keener saddled the winners of three of the trials. That trio made the final on Saturday night as well as three others who didn’t visit the winner’s circle during those heats. Taking a look at the 10 qualifiers, Keener conditions the top four finalists and six of the top eight with DTL Josie Wales putting up the best mark.

Owned by Elizabeth Logan of Haskell, Okla., DTL Josie Wales was strong in his trial, holding off stablemate PHQ Goodbye Earl while striding nicely in a time of :18.092 seconds. Logan also owns DTL Batter Up who is also handled by Keener.

DTL Josie Wales is the morning-line favorite at 3-1 odds while Snooki, another trained by Keener, is second in the line at 4-1 odds.

Joining Logan as owners with two runners in the race are Wade and Charles Leggett of Muskogee, Okla. They have Snooki and Truck Yeah in the final with the latter trained by Cody McCart.
