Sensational Dash After Fourth Straight Victory in Fine Loom Handicap on Saturday

RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM—MAY 25, 2015—Gerardo Acosta’s former claimer Sensational Dash tries for her fourth consecutive win and second straight stakes win when she starts in the $30,000 Fine Loom Handicap over 870 yards on Saturday afternoon at Ruidoso Downs.

First post time is 1 p.m. with the Fine Loom running as the eighth race. There is always free parking and free general admission at Ruidoso Downs.

The 870-yard specialist Sensational Dash ran for a $20,000 claiming price two starts ago and started her winning streak with a three-quarter-length win for a $15,000 tag. In the $20,000 claiming race at Sunland Park, the Salvador Soto-trained mare took the lead from the gate and easily won by three lengths.

Sensational Dash comes into the Fine Loom off a win in the Grade 3, $59,760 Zoetis Sunland Park Distance Challenge, her sole stakes win from 27 starts. The Streak N Dash mare used her usual front-running tactics to gain the lead and never gave it up on her way to a neck win at 2-1 odds.

Esgar Ramirez will ride Sensational Dash with the third post position.

Solitaire Stables’ thoroughbred Unfettered should be making a late charge trying for his third consecutive win. The Rockport Harbor son won the $100,000 Bill Thomas Memorial over six-and-one-half-furlongs at Sunland Park. He then dropped down to a $29,200 allowance race at 870 yards and charged to a head win as the 7-5 choice.

Trainer Henry Dominguez will have Carlos Madeira in the saddle and they drew the seventh post position.

Owned by Sandy Farris, Marc Jungers and Lisa McMinn, An Absolut Diamond makes his first start since defeating New Mexico-breds the $85,000 Challenger Six Handicap over 870 yards back in December at Sunland Park. That was the 870-yard debut for the Ketel Won gelding from the Mike Joiner barn.

The winner of six of 16 lifetime starts, An Absolut Diamond starts from the second post position with L. Salvador Martinez aboard.
