LETHBRIDGE, AB—MAY 22, 2015—Janis Calton’s KG Guy, the fastest qualifier, drew post 3 for Sunday’s 350-yard, $18,500 All Canadian Open Derby at Lethbridge.
A 3-year-old gelding by Sizzlin Red Corona trained by Kurt Calton, KG Guy made his 3-year-old debut with a one-length victory in his trial on May 10. Larris Allen will ride KG Guy in the final.
Other contenders include Cruisinfourabruisin, a homebred son of First Timber racing for Barry and Janice Sather and trained by Janice Sather. The gelding is coming off of a 2-year-old campaign in which he won four of nine races, including the 350-yard, $76,000 Canada Cup Futurity (RG3) in September.
Cruisinfourabruisin drew post 4 and will be ridden by Ruben Saenz.
