Talented 2-Year-Olds Headline Los Alamitos Card On Friday

LOS ALAMITOS, CA— APRIL 23, 2015—Fifteen 2-year-old Quarter Horses headed by Muller Racing LLC’s Our Dicey FFM, a full brother to 2006 All American Futurity winner No Secrets Here, will make their racing debuts on Friday at Los Alamitos. Nine fillies will compete in the fourth race at 300 yards, while six promising colts will race in a wide-open test for colts and geldings in the 300-yard seventh race. First post is 7 p.m.

Owner Ed Allred has seen two of his freshman runners in the winner’s circle this season, first with Sale Topper’s impressive daylight win in :15.638 on April 11, and secondly with Joyous’ half-length win on April 17.

Allred could double his win total with his juveniles on Friday, as he’ll be represented by the Scott Willoughby-trained For Pee Jay in the fourth and the Jose Flores-trained Brainy in the seventh. For Pee Jay, a Foose filly from the family of Hot Hitter, Freaky, Hard Hitting, Lassen County, etc, figures to be one of the top contenders in her race after posting bullet works on March 19 and March 31. She’ll be ridden by Carlos Huerta, the meet’s second leading Quarter Horse jockey.

Lila Kessinger’s Love Ya KK, named in honor of Lila’s late husband Kim Kessinger, is another filly to watch after posting a solid :12.40 drill on April 2. Trained by Mike Casselman, Love Ya KK is out of the mare Love Ya Miss Jess, a half sister to La Primera Del Ano Derby and Golden State Derby finalist Night Lines. Legacy Ranch, Inc and Muller Racing’s Jess Flying By, a filly out of 2010 champion 2-year-old filly Flying Fig, is another strong contender here.

Muller Racing’s Our Dicey FFM will headline the seventh race after posting a :12.50 work on April 7. The First Down Dash colt out of Dicey Secret is eligible to all of the major futurities at Los Alamitos. Howard Nichols has also won two races with his 2-year-olds and will now look for win number three with Hot Tang, which he co-owns along with Mike Abraham and Paul Blanchard. Out of Jess A Cartel, Hot Tang is a full sister to West Texas Futurity finalist Hot Tottie.
