KENNEWICK, WA—APRIL 18, 2015— A total of 29 2-year-olds have been entered in Sunday’s Pot O’ Gold Futurity trials at Sun Downs.

All of the horses entered in the trials will be making their career debuts. First Prize Chicks, a Spit Curl Jess filly racing for Five Livestock Company LLC, will make her first start in the fourth heat off of a workout tab at Jerome, Idaho, that includes a 220-yard gate breeze in :12.10 on April 5.

Never Marin will ride First Prize Chicks for trainer Monty Arrossa in Sunday’s trial.

Amparo Coria-Garzilazo’s Double Down Corona, an Idaho-bred son of the Southern Cartel stallion BP Southern Power trained by Juan Sanguino, drew post 5 in the second heat. At Sun Downs on March 28, the gelding recorded a 220-yard gate breeze in :12.54, the second-fastest of 33 at the distance that day. Jesus Afanador will ride Double Down Corona in the gelding’s career debut.

The fastest qualifiers from the four 300-yard trials will meet in the $10,000-added Pot O’ Gold Futurity final on May 3.
