Rich Remington Park Futurity Leads Huge Program Saturday Night

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—APRIL 18, 2015— The stakes get higher as Remington Park Futurity night takes place Saturday, April 18. The restricted Grade 2 race for eligible Oklahoma-bred 2-year-olds heads a 12-race card worth $1.4 million overall.

The $827,000 Remington Park Futurity is the richest state-bred futurity program of its kind in American Quarter Horse racing, and the richest futurity of 2015 to this point in the year. The field of 10 was determined over two nights of trials on April 3 & 4 with the fastest five at 330 yards advancing to the final. A Tres Of Paint was the top qualifier on night one with BV Midnite Express posting the top time on night number two.

The Remington Park Futurity will be the ninth of 12 races on Saturday with the first race at 6 pm. The Futurity is scheduled at 9:28 pm. Here is field by post position and program number, with trainer, jockey and morning-line odds:

The Remington Park Futurity program, switched to eligible Oklahoma-breds in 2011 after being an open-company event since 1989, is now worth $1.5 million overall. The total includes the purses for the futurity, the Remington Park Derby, the Remington Park Juvenile (April 19), the trial purses and breeder awards.

The order of stakes races on the Saturday night program is:

  • Race 8, 9:02 pm, $70,000 Laico Bird Stakes
  • Race 9, 9:28 pm, $827,000 Remington Park Futurity
  • Race 10, 9:54 pm, $306,000 Remington Park Derby
  • Race 11, 10:20 pm, $30,000 Mister Lewie Memorial (Paints/Appaloosas)
  • Race 12, 10:46 pm, $50,000 Grade 2, Bob Moore Memorial

Remington Park racing begins at 6pm Thursday thru Saturday, April 16-18. Sunday racing on April 19 begins at 1:30pm.
