Fastest Qualifier Foose Cash Sr Draws Post 7 for $108,300 West Texas Maturity

SUNLAND PARK, NM—FEBRUARY 24, 2015—Foose Cash Sr, a Grade 1-winning 4-year-old gelding by champion Foose, is one of 10 aged sprinters entered back in Sunday’s 400-yard, $108,300 West Texas Maturity (G3) at Sunland Racetrack & Casino.

Racing for World Champion Racing Stables LLC, Lapresita LLC et al., Foose Cash Sr made his season debut with a half-length victory as the odds-on favorite in the first of three trials on February 6. The gelding is coming off of a sophomore campaign in which he earned $406,442 from four starts and won the 400-yard, $972,000 Los Alamitos Super Derby (G1) in November.

Foose Cash Sr is trained by James J. Gonzales II. Rodolfo Arvizu has been named to ride the gelding from post 7 in the West Texas Maturity final.

Gonzales will also send out second-fastest qualifier Mr Corona Cartel, a 4-year-old Corona Cartel gelding owned by San Gregorio Racing Stables Inc.. and World Champion Racing Stables Inc. A finalist in the Los Alamitos Super Derby, Mr Corona Cartel outran his 11-1 odds to win the second West Texas Maturity trial.

Mr Corona Cartel drew post 5 and will be ridden by Felipe Garcia-Luna.
