Rescheduled Tallahassee Stakes Draws Seven on Monday's Hialeah Card

BY MICHAEL CUSORTELLI

HIALEAH, FL—FEBRUARY 1, 2015—Oh My Gol Sis, a stakes winner during the current meet, is one of seven sprinters entered in Monday’s 220-yard, $20,000 Tallahassee Stakes at Hialeah Park.

Originally scheduled for Sunday (Jan. 25), the Tallahassee Stakes was declared a no-contest when the starting gate failed to open properly for one of the horses entered.

Oh My Gol Sis races for Elio Vazquez, who also trains the 7-year-old son of the Gol stallion Sis B Gol. The gelding outran his 10-1 odds to score a half-length victory in the 110-yard, $20,000 Speedball Stakes at Hialeah on January 11.

Triumph Stables Inc.’s Scream N Eagle, a 5-year-old gelding by champion One Famous Eagle, ran second to Oh My Gol Sis in the Speedball. Trained by Jesus Garrido, Scream N Eagle is stakes placed at this longer distance, as he ran third, 1 1/2 lengths behind winner FDD Going Grand, in the November 8, $20,000 Evangeline Downs Dash Stakes in Louisiana.

The complete lineup, in post position order including jockey assignments--

  1. Jess A Corona (Yordanis Amaro)
  2. Scream N Eagle (Gerardo Garrido)
  3. Way Down Town (Rodrigo S. Vallejo)
  4. Sweet N Salty (Shanley Jackson)
  5. Dream Ride (Luis A. Guerrero)
  6. Miss Southern DD (Omar Reyes)
  7. Oh My Gol Sis (Oscar Delgado).
