PORTLAND, OR—NOVEMBER 30, 2014—Lil Touch Of Dixie, a stakes-placed daughter of the Dixie Union (TB) stallion Sixthirteen (TB), is one of 28 Oregon-bred 2-year-olds entered in today’s (Sunday) 400-yard Baxter Andruss Futurity (R) at Portland Meadows.
Lil Touch Of Dixie has won three of four races and has earned $10,329 for her owners, Jaime Leon and Martiniano Leon. Conditioned by Juan M. Leon, the filly ran second, a neck behind winner Cops R Zoomin, in the 300-yard, $27,000 Pot O’ Gold Futurity at Sun Downs in Kennewick, Washington, on May 4.
Lil Touch Of Dixie will be ridden by Jake Samuels from post 2 in the last of four trials.
Cops R Zoomin, a chestnut daughter of Shazoomin Star owned by Pedro Sanguino, drew post 4 in the third heat. The filly is trained by Jose Sanguino, and she has banked $17,915 from six outs. Her race record includes a third-place finish in the July 4, $31,000 Firecracker Futurity at Grants Pass Downs.
The 10 fastest qualifiers from Sunday’s trials will meet in the $14,500-guaranteed Baxter Andruss Futurity trials on December 14.
