Fastest qualifier Stinkin Rich Draws Post 8 for $198,900 Miss Roxie Little Futurity Final

SHELBYVILLE, IN—OCTOBER 24, 2014—Carolyn Bruce’s Stinkin Rich drew post 8 for the 350-yard, $198,900 Miss Roxie Little Futurity (R), the richest of five stakes to be contested at Indiana Grand Racecourse on Saturday.

A homebred gelding by One Famous Eagle trained by Ron Raper, Stinkin Rich is coming off of a one-length victory in the first of five trials on October 10. Stinkin Rich has won three of five races and has earned $85,025, and his season record includes a one-length win in the 300-yard, $130,000 Jaguar Rocket Stakes (R) on July 26.

Ben Creed has been named to ride Stinkin Rich in Saturday’s final.

Other contenders include Cant Catcha Corona, a gelded son of First Corona Home owned and trained by Randy M. Smith. Cant Catcha Corona has won three of four outs, including the 300-yard, $199,000 Gordon Mobley Futurity (R) on July 26.

Cant Catcha Corona will be ridden by Victor Olivo from post 7.

Also on Saturday, a field of 10 2-year-olds has been entered back in the 350-yard, $128,000 Governor’s Stakes.

Fastest qualifier Jesse Jr First Down, a Kentucky-bred Jesse James Jr gelding campaigned by Cynthia Allen from the barn of Ron Raper, scored a convincing 1 ˝-length win in the second of two trials on October 10. Ben Creed will ride the gelding, whose race resume includes a second-place finish in the September 13, $182,000 Indiana Stallion Futurity (R).

Pistolpacking Pepsi will put his four-race win streak on the line in Saturday’s 400-yard, $126,400 Sterlie Bertram Memorial Stakes (R) for Indiana-bred 3-year-olds.

A Jesse James Jr gelding campaigned by Robert A. Ray and trainer Ronald Brown, Pistolpacking Pepsi has won four of six starts at Indiana Grand this year. His win streak includes victories in the 400-yard, $79,000 Indiana Stallion Derby (R) on September 13, and the 400-yard, $135,000 Blue River Derby (R) in July.

Pistolpacking Pepsi drew post 2 and will be ridden by Jose Beltran.
