ALTOONA, IA—SEPTEMBER 30, 2014—Specials Jamie, a stakes winner during the Remington Park spring meet, is one of 57 two-year-olds entered in Friday’s Valley Junction Futurity trials at Prairie Meadows.
A homebred daughter of Ivory James racing for A.C. Taylor and trained by Kasey Willis, Specials Jamie has earned $96,111 from six starts, and her three wins include a head victory in the 330-yard, $70,000 FL Lady Bug Stakes (R) for Oklahoma-breds on May 25.
Agustin Silva has been named to ride Specials Jamie from the rail post in the fifth of six 350-yard trials.
John Lawless’ BP Cartels Policy will be ridden by Stormy Smith from post 8 in the third heat. Trained by Brent Clay and a $10,000 buy at last year's Heritage Place Yearling Sale, the gelded son of Cartels Success has won three consecutive races, including the 350-yard, $109,000 Iowa Double Gold Futurity (R) on August 30.
Whos Kissin Carter, a homebred Carters Cartel filly, drew post 5 in the final trial. Racing for Lisa Beauprez and Thomas Bradbury from the barn of John Hammes, Whos Kissin Carter outran her 13-1 odds to win the 350-yard, $90,000 Rocky Mountain Futurity at Arapahoe Park near Denver on July 13.
Tony Guymon has been named to ride Whos Kissin Carter in the filly’s trial.
The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the October 17, $235,000-est. Valley Junction Futurity final.

Stormy Smith has been named to ride Bulleader on Friday.
The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the $100,000-est. Polk County Derby on October October 17.
