HOBBS, NM—SEPTEMBER 16, 2014—A total of 32 3-year-olds have been entered in Sunday’s 440-yard Hobbs America Derby (G3) trials at Zia Park.

KH Logax Inc.’s You N How Many More, the winner of last year’s $275,000 Hobbs America Futurity (G2), drew post 8 in the first of four trials. Trained by Juan M. Gonzalez, the gray gelding by Chicks Regard will be ridden by Jaime Parga Leos on Sunday.

Gonzalez will also send out I Azoomed You Knew, a gelded son of Azoom owned by Carlos M. Soto, in the fourth heat. I Azoomed You Knew won three of his four starts during the 2013-14 Sunland Park meet, including the March 29, 400-yard West Texas Derby (G3).

Hes Relentless is the 2-1 morning-line favorite in the second trial. Racing for R.D. Hubbard, Bill Maher, Tom Maher and Johnny Cope from the barn of Jason Olmstead, the One Famous Eagle colt is coming off of a Ruidoso Downs summer meet in which he ran third, a half of a length behind winner Houdini, in the 440-yard, $1,049,000 Rainbow Derby (G1) on July 19.

The 10 fastest qualifiers from Sunday’s trials will meet in the $80,000-added Hobbs America Derby final on October 5.
