AJAX, ONT—SEPTEMBER 15, 2014—One Famous Glass, a 4-year-old gelding by One Famous Eagle, will make his first start in nearly five months in Tuesday’s 440-yard Alex Picov Memorial Championship trials at Ajax Downs.

Racing for Carol Robertson, Jamie Robertson, and Dr. Charles Hall from the barn of Bryn Robertson, One Famous Glass is coming off of a Remington Park spring campaign in which he ran fourth, one length behind winner Llano Cartel, in the 400-yard, $100,000 Leo Stakes (G1) on March 29. The stakes-winning gelding has won eight of 17 races -- including seven of 13 at Ajax -- and he has earned $120,900.

One Famous Glass was a $10,000 buy at the 2011 Heritage Place Yearling Sale in Oklahoma City. The gelding drew post 10 and will be ridden by Marty Mercieca in the first of two trials.

A total of 19 sprinters have entered Tuesday’s trials, including John S. Wilson’s Mitford. A 4-year-old gelded son of Ivory James trained by Scott Reid, Mitford has won three of four outs this season, including the 350-yard, $86,000 Picov Maturity at Ajax on June 29.

Cassandra Jesschke has been named to ride Mitford from post 8 in the first heat.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the $100,000-added Alex Picov Memorial Championship final on September 30.
