Jesskissmytexas is Morning-Line Favorite for $53,350 Ontario Sires’ Stakes Maturity

AJAX, ONTARIO, CANADA--AUGUST 18, 2014--DK Training Centre’s Jesskissmytexas is one of 10 aged sprinters entered in Tuesday’s 400-yard, $53,350 Ontario Sires’ Stakes Maturity (R) at Ajax Downs.

A gray 4-year-old son of the Mr Jess Perry stallion Mr Jess Tex trained by Kim Ito, Jesskissmytexas is the 3-1 morning-line favorite. The stakes-winning gelding is coming off of a 1 3/4-length victory in the first of two trials on August 4.

Cory Spataro will ride Jesskissmytexas from post 9 on Tuesday. His nine opponents include Bob and Gail Woodward’s Cruwysn The Arctic, a 5-year-old gelding by the Holland Ease stallion Dash To The Arctic trained by Greg Watson. Cruwysn The Arctic has won three consecutive races, including the second trial at odds of 15-1.

Chelsey Willick has been named to ride Cruwysn The Arctic, who drew post 7.

Ontario Stakes Derby Trials

Also at Ajax Downs on Tuesday, a total of 20 3-year-olds has been entered in two 350-yard Ontario Sires’ Stakes Derby (R) trials. The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the $73,850 final on September 2.

Zoomin On Ice, a bay gelding by the Oak Tree Special stallion Iced N Oak racing for Stephanie Keeble from the barn of Greg Watson, is the 3-1 morning-line favorite in the first heat. Zoomin On Ice has earned $41,459 from nine outs -- all at Ajax Downs -- and his race record includes a third-place finish in last year’s $72,000 Alex Picov Memorial Futurity (R).

Aron Hunt will ride Zoomin On Ice in Tuesday’s trial.
