Fastest Qualifier One Prompt JJ Returns in $32,008 Idaho Cup Futurity Final

BOISE, ID—JULY 31, 2014—A full field of 10 state-bred 2-year-olds, including fastest qualifier and morning-line favorite One Prompt JJ, has been entered in Saturday’s 350-yard, $32,008 Idaho Cup Futurity (R) at Les Bois Park.

The Idaho Cup Futurity is one of two Quarter Horse stakes on Les Bois Park’s Idaho Cup Day program, the other being the 400-yard, $21,579 Idaho Cup Derby (R). Estimated post time for the Futurity is set for 6:39 p.m. (MDT), while the Derby is scheduled to go off at 7:27.

A sorrel daughter of Jesse James Jr racing for Jorge Navarro and trained by Monty Arrossa, One Prompt JJ is coming off of a half-length victory as the 1-5 favorite in the first of three trials on July 19. All told, the filly has won four of six outs and has earned $24,781, and her race record includes a third-place finish against open company in the 300-yard, $40,000 Knight Transportation Futurity at Les Bois Park on May 26.

Cesar DeAlba will ride One Prompt JJ from post 8 in the Idaho Cup Futurity final.

Idhao Cup Derby

Fastest qualifier Fames Version, a stakes-placed Winners Version filly owned by Mark and Holly Curtis, drew post 9 for the Idaho Cup Derby.

Conditioned by Monty Arrossa, Fames Version scored a 1 1/2-length victory in the second of two trials on July 19. She is coming off of a 2-year-old campaign in which she ran third in the 350-yard, $15,000 The Plan Handicap at Los Alamitos.

Fames Version has banked $12,382 from 13 outs. Cesar DeAlba has been named to ride the filly in the Idaho Cup Derby final.

Ruben Magallanes’ Angel Eyes, the second-fastest qualifier, boasts a three-race win streak that includes a half-length victory in the first trial. An earner of $21,903 from 12 outs, the daughter of champion FDD Dynasty drew post 10 and will be ridden by Jose Madrigal.
