Sandys Jesse is Morning-Line Favorite in Four Corners Senora

FARMINGTON, NM—APRIL 22, 2014—Chin S. Lee’s Sandys Jesse is the 5-2 morning-line choice in Sunday’s 400-yard, $45,000 Four Corners Senora Stakes (RG2) for New Mexico-bred fillies and mares at SunRay Park.

A stakes-winning 4-year-old daughter of Jesse James Jr trained by H. Armando Orozco, Sandys Jesse ships in from Sunland Park, where the mare ran second in two consecutive races, including the 350-yard, $85,000 Mesilla Valley Speed Handicap (RG2) on March 9.

Esgar Ramirez will ride Sandys Jesse from post 5 in the Four Corners Senora.

WDC Wendys Wine, a 5-year-old Woodbridge mare campaigned by Alonso and Sylvia Aranda, drew post 4 in the eight-horse field. Graded stakes-placed against New Mexico-breds, WDC Wendys Wine is coming off of an eighth-place finish in the 440-yard, $100,000 Bank of America New Mexico Challenge (G2) at Sunland Park on April 6.

Salvador Martinez has been named to ride WDC Wendys Wine on Sunday.

The Four Corners Senora Stakes was first run in 2009. The stakes was upgraded from a Restricted Grade 3 to Restricted Grade 2 this year. Past winners include Blazin N Shakin and Jenuine Joy.
