The Rev Rocker Holds On To Win $47,218 John Deere Idaho Juvenile Challenge at Pocatello Downs

POCATELLO, ID—SEPTEMBER 24, 2022—The Rev Rocker wouldn't be denied as he held off Rlh Fouronthefloor by a nose in the $47,218 John Deere Idaho Juvenile Challenge at Pocatello Downs Saturday.

Under jockey Jesus Valenzuela, The Rev Rocker completed the 350 yards in :17.576 seconds, a 99 speed index.  It was the second win four starts for the son of leading second-crop sire A Revenant.

Trainer Riley Moosman saddled the New Mexico-bred gelding for owner Patrician Knudson.  The $21,720 winner's purse boosted The Rev Rocker's earnings to $22,945. Debra Laney bred the sorrel gelding from the First Moonflash mare Mitey Moon.

The Rev Rocker also garnered an invite to the $125,000-est. John Deere Juvenile Challenge Championship(G3) to be contested during the Bank of America Challenge Championships next month at Horseshoe Indiana.

Trainer Heath Hillman saddled runner-up Rlh Fouronthefloor for owner-breeder Robert Harrison. Jesus Virgen rode the Jess Got Easier gelding out of Sp Saint Patty by Saint Shackleton. The multiple stakes-placed winner of three races has earned $22,519 after picking up $9,444 in the Juvenile.

Texas-bred One Famous Rock was three-quarters back for trainer Mark Hanson and owners RTM Stables, Robin Dunn, Kevin Dun and Bryon Goody. The son of leading sire One Famous Eagle earned $4,722 for the effort. Cody Wainscott rode the multiple stakes-placed earner of $22,717. Weetona Stanley bred One Famous Rock from the Oak Tree Special mare First Prize Joy.

Completing the Juvenile field were Rlh Chocolate Chip, Normandy, Bc Fast Dash, Dks First Dynasty, Bp Hes The Moon, Smokin Lil Wagon and Look James.
