Arrossa-Trained Duo Headline John Deere California Regional Final

LOS ALAMITOS, CA—AUGUST 16, 2018—Monty Arrossa has enjoyed some big nights already in 2018. He saddled the great Zoomin For Spuds to victory in the Grade 1 Vessels Maturity and in that same weekend, the trainer had a total of 11 victories with his horses across the nation.

Two weeks ago, in the trials to the $51,210 John Deere California Juvenile Challenge, Arrossa had another good night, as he swept the two trials at 350 yards thanks to the undefeated Stevieb Flashofcash and the stakes placed runner Fames Prize Stone.

The two trial winners will now headline the John Deere California final, which is the scheduled as the ninth race on Saturday night. First post is 7:45 p.m.

"I’ve been happy with Stevieb Flashofcash," Arrossa said. ‘He’s won three times in as many races. He’s ran a little green, but he seems to be improving. He’ll be tough in the final. Fames Prize Stone is a nice filly. We’ve campaigned her pretty hard and she’s won three trial races and has finished third in the Bitterroot Futurity and the John Deere regional at Sandy Downs. She’s been really consistent and the Bitterroot is one of the better races in the Northwest.

"I have to say thanks to Los Alamitos for hosting and supporting the Bank of America Challenge program," Arrossa continued. "I have split stables with horses in Idaho and horses here so to be able to run horses in the Northwest and Intermountain regions and then be able to bring them here for the Challenge races, that’s a great thing."

The field will also include Grade 2 futurity finalist Cole Man 47 plus Quick To Royalty, Capitol Grille, Loan Sharky, KR Hi Five, Classncoronas, Allyson Wonderland, and Chasin Harm. The winner of the John Deere California moves on to the Grade 2 final here on Nov. 17.
