CLAREMORE, OK—SEPTEMBER 10, 2017—Multiple stakes-placed Jdc Wild Rose was a wire-to-wire winner Sunday at Will Rogers Downs while posting the top qualifying time for the $32,500 Adequan Will Rogers Derby Challenge.
Ridden by jockey Mario Delgado, Jc Wild Rose, completed the 400 yards in a quick :19.674 clocking to earn a 98-speed index and set the top qualifying time from the two trial races.
Carlos Ruiz conditions the daughter of leading sire Apollitical Jess for owner/breeder Jose Cervantes. Third in the Will Rogers Juvenile Challenge and OHA Mystery Futurity at Will Rogers last year, Jc Wild Rose has compiled a (12) 3-2-3 record and banked $63,586.
Out of the Stoli mare, Oh Cherokee Rose, Jc Wild Rose's sister, Jc Yellow Rose, qualified for the $32,500-added John Deere Will Rogers Juvenile at Will Rogers today (Sunday).
Denis and Julie Schoenhofer's Famousist was a one-length winner in the opening trial to get the second fastest time of :19.839 seconds, a 94-speed index.
Jockey Omar Reyes had the riding call aboard the Separatist gelding for trainer Jose Gamez. Second in the Grade 3 Oklahoma Derby and third in the Speedhorse Derby earlier this year, Famousist has compiled a (12) 4-2-4 record and earned $73,956.

The $32,500-Added Adequan Derby final will be contested on Sunday, September 24th at Will Rogers Downs. The winner will also earn a berth in the $180,000 Guaranteed Adequan Derby Challenge Championship (G3) to be contested on Bank of America Challenge Championship Night at Prairie Meadows October 14th.
