Secretive Jess Gets Second Straight to Set Top Will Rogers Maiden Challenge Trial Time

CLAREMORE, OK—OCTOBER 19, 2014—Getting her second straight win, Secretive Jess stumbled at the start but held off a game Shadasha Sunday afternoon at Will Rogers Downs as the pair posted the top two qualifying times for the Will Rogers Maiden Challenge Stakes.

The 10 fastest challenged enrolled 3-year-old and up maidens at time of nomination will return to the Northeastern Oklahoma racetrack on Sunday, November 2 and vie for the winner's share of a $25,000-added purse going 350 yards.

Racing for owner/breeder Donald Friesen, Secretive Jess entered the trials off an impressive one-length maiden win in her 13th career start on September 28th at Prairie Meadows.

Three weeks later the Stacy Charette-Hill trainee got her second win under jockey Jorge Torres as she completed the 350 yards in :17.798 seconds to establish the top qualifying mark.

Frisen bred the No Secrets Here filly in Oklahoma from the graded stakes winning Mr Jess Perry mare My Girl Jessie. Her record stands at (14) 2-2-5 with earnings in excess of $37,000.

Shadasha, a Kentucky bred daughter of Shazoom, out of Dasha Easy by A Real Choice, held on to the second fastest time of :17.829 seconds. Also a winner in her last start at Prairie Meadows, the sorrel filly races for owner Bryan Calloway and trainer Clinton Crawford. Robert Gentry is the breeder.

Jockey Larry Payne rode Pt Corona Nights to the third fastest time after a half-length win in the first trial. Christian Rubalcava conditions the Corona Cartel 3-year-old for owner Benjamin Salazar, Jr. He completed the 350 yards in :17.953 seconds.

Pt Corona Nights came into the trials off a wire-to-wire one-length win in his last start on October 3 at Will Rogers Downs. His record stands at (10) 2-1-1 with earnings of $15,157.
