What Ta Wear Makes U.S. Debut in AQHA Hazel Park Challenge Stakes

HAZEL PARK, MI—OCTOBER 1, 2014—Renee K. Wilson’s What Ta Wear, a 4-year-old daughter of Game Patriot, will make her United States debut in Friday’s 330-yard, $15,000 AQHA Hazel Park Challenge Stakes.

Trained by Tom Dunlap, What Ta Wear ships in from Ajax Downs near Toronto, where the mare ran third, three-quarters of a length behind winner Joltin Jess, in the 440-yard, $71,000 Bank of America Ajax Championship Challenge on August 26. Daniel Rose will ride What Ta Wear from post 3 on Friday, as the mare tries for her first career stakes victory.

Other contenders in the field of eight include Speed Smith, a 6-year-old son of Prime Talent and champion Speedy Empress racing for Cesar Rosales from the barn of Rolando Almanza. The stallion is coming off of a runner-up finish in a 350-yard, $15,000 stakes dash at Belterra Park in Cincinnati on August 10.
