ALTOONA, IA—AUGUST 28, 2014—WRS Quick Regards is one of 38 2-year-olds entered in the John Deere Prairie Meadows Juvenile Challenge on Saturday.

A homebred gelding by Chicks Regard racing for Gwen Williams’ Williams Racing Stables Inc. and trained by Kasey Willis, WRS Quick Regards ships in from Indiana Grand Racecourse, where he scored a half-length victory in the 300-yard, $93,000 Heartland Futurity on July 26.

WRS Quick Regards is the 7-5 morning-line favorite in the third of four 350-yard trials. Cesar Gomez has been named to ride the gelding from post 4.

Other prominent 2-year-olds entered in the trials include Coronas Concierge, a gray Corona Cartel filly racing for Tom Maher and Bill Maher and a stakes winner at Canterbury Park; and Hay Racing’s Hayjay, the runner-up in the June 15, $75,000 Cherry Creek Futurity (R) for Colorado-breds at Arapahoe Park.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the $30,000-added John Deere Prairie Meadows Juvenile Challenge on September 13. The winner of the final will earn a starting slot in the 350-yard, $150,000 John Deere Juvenile Challenge Championship (G2) at Prairie Meadows on October 18.
