BOISE, ID—JULY 21, 2014—Sixteen fillies and mares have been entered in Wednesday’s Merial Les Bois Distaff Challenge trials at Les Bois Park.

Aloha Sweetheart, a stakes winning 3-year-old daughter of the Check Him Out stallion Saint Shackleton, will be making the second start of her sophomore season from post 8 in the first of the two 400-yard trials. Trained by Susan Hadley for owners Kapp Investments Co. LLC and Hadley Ranch, the filly has earned $10,380 from seven races, and her two wins include a half-length victory at odds of nearly 17-1 in last year’s 350-yard, $20,000 Far West Futurity at Portland Meadows.

Jordan Hadley has been named to ride Aloha Sweetheart on Wednesday. Her seven opponents in the first heat include Blaze To Victory, a 5-year-old mare by Maknmoves racing for the partnership of Escobedo and Christensen from the barn of Samuel Christensen.

Blaze To Victory will be making her first start of the season on Wednesday. The mare is coming off of a 4-year-old season in which she won the 400-yard, $26,000 Merial Sandy Downs Distaff Challenge. Eduardo Gutierrez-Sosa will ride the mare from post 5.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the $12,000-added Merial Les Bois Distaff Challenge final on Saturday, August 9.
