After late race scratches in two trial races, the 10 horses who competed all graduated to the July 7 400 yard final for challenge enrolled 3-year-old and up fillies and mares.

Racing for Junior's Quarter Horses, Dreamers Cartel scored her second career win, first this season, in nine starts. The 5-year-old daughter of leading sire Corona Cartel has earned $28,337. Chris Gandarilla handles the training duties for the brown miss who posted the top time of :19.678 seconds, a 95 speed index. John Sperry bred the brown mare in California from the Strawfly Special mare Dreams Can Fly.

Stakes winner and multiple stakes tested Corona For You held on for the second fastest time of :19.692, also a 95 speed index. Hugo Barron Sierra trains the Corona for Me 6-year-old out of My First Twist, by First Down Dash for Hugo Barron Sierra. Alejandro Luna was aboard the earner of more than $156,000. Jamie Gomez bred her in California.

Thomas Bradbury and John Hammes' homebred Fast Dash Tanisha won the first trial by one-length, recording the fifth fastest time of :19.974. Also trained by Hammes, the Heza Fast Dash 4-year-old was ridden by Vince Guerra. In 2010 she was fourth in the Cherry Creek Futurity(RG3) and last season was fourth in the $91,000 Atoona Derby (G3) at Prairie Meadows. Out of the Bully Bullion mare Tanisha, she has earned $24,868.
